Terms and Conditions for AEI Scholarship Program
The AEI Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to disadvantaged youth who demonstrate a passion for learning and a commitment to acquiring skilled training. By applying for and accepting a scholarship, applicants agree to comply with the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be aged between 18-25 years.
- The scholarship is intended for youth with special needs, those from poor or disadvantaged households, urban slums, or orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs).
- Applicants must demonstrate a genuine passion for learning and self-improvement.
- All applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form and provide a letter of recommendation from a recognized local leader or authority.
2. Scholarship Coverage
- The scholarship covers tuition fees for short courses at AEI.
- The scholarship does not cover accommodation, local travel, external examination fees, practical fees, uniforms, T-shirts, or any other admission requirements.
- Scholarships are awarded for 3-month short courses only.
3. Application and Award Process
- A completed application form must be submitted by the stated deadline.
- All applicants will undergo a social inquiry to verify eligibility and background.
- Scholarships are awarded based on the evaluation of the application, social inquiry, and recommendation letter.
- Award decisions are final and are at the sole discretion of AEI’s scholarship committee.
4. Conditions of Scholarship
- Recipients must commit to completing their course within the designated time frame.
- All students must adhere to AEI’s code of conduct, policies, and regulations during their course of study.
- Any form of misconduct, including but not limited to cheating, fraud, or breach of institute policies, may result in the immediate termination of the scholarship.
- Recipients must maintain a satisfactory level of attendance (at least 90%) and actively participate in all course-related activities.
- Students are required to sign a commitment form agreeing to follow the scholarship rules and institute regulations.
5. Upkeep and Personal Expenses
- The scholarship recipient is responsible for covering their own accommodation, transportation, meals, and other personal expenses throughout the course duration.
- Proof of ability to cover these expenses may be requested as part of the scholarship application.
6. Termination and Withdrawal
- AEI reserves the right to withdraw or terminate a scholarship if the recipient fails to comply with the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
- Scholarships will be terminated if the recipient discontinues their studies, fails to maintain acceptable attendance, or is found guilty of any form of misconduct.
- In the case of scholarship termination, the recipient will be required to repay any unutilized portion of the funds.
7. Commitment to Employment or Internship
- Upon completing the course, scholarship recipients are encouraged to seek internships, job placements, or entrepreneurship opportunities in line with the skills gained.
- AEI will assist in linking recipients to internship or employment opportunities through public-private partnerships.
- Recipients must participate in any pre- or post-placement counseling or career support sessions organized by AEI.
8. Scholarship Renewal
- Scholarships are awarded for a single 3-month short course only and cannot be extended or renewed.
- If a recipient wishes to pursue further courses at AEI, they must reapply and meet all eligibility requirements for future scholarship programs.
9. Scholarship Revocation
- AEI reserves the right to revoke the scholarship in cases of falsified information during the application process.
- Any attempt to transfer, sell, or misrepresent the scholarship for personal gain will result in immediate revocation.
10. Legal Considerations
- All scholarship recipients agree to comply with Kenyan law and AEI’s legal requirements throughout their time at the institute.
- Any legal disputes arising from the scholarship program shall be governed by the laws of Kenya.
11. Amendments
- AEI reserves the right to modify, amend, or update these terms and conditions at any time, with or without prior notice.
- Scholarship recipients will be notified of any significant changes to the terms and conditions.
By accepting the AEI Scholarship, recipients agree to abide by all the terms and conditions listed above. Failure to comply may result in the forfeiture of the scholarship and any related benefits.
